PERMANENT JOBS
To obtain a PERMANENT JOB with an NPC establishment, your character must prove they are a reliable worker! Meaning they have proven themselves to be skilled, hard workers and not just bummed off friends! Each step in improved wages requires the character to have been actively involved in their job and proven to bosses and whatnot to get the appropriate recommendations! While this sort of thing is mostly hand-waved in Mostly Harmless, we may ask for proof that your character does their jobs, such as a post or two of perhaps them selling products or an open log of them at their job.
***Please note!*** If your character is new to the game this is not the place to sign them up for work. Temporary missions go up on thegargleblasted community at the beginning of every month, and are open for sign-ups all month long. The tag for that is !missions, and all missions, past and present, can be found by clicking here.
The requirements are as follows:
Minimum Degree Wage three months of solid working.
Somewhat Decent Wage six months of solid working.
College Degree Wage eight months.

Gin's pay depends entirely on Lucifer but I've been careful in asking for pay raises. Generally I've followed the rule that if he hasn't worked for the minimum amount of months that someone else has to for that kind of pay, I won't ask for it. IE: someone has to work three jobs/months at somewhat decent pay before they can get college, so Gin worked three months at somewhat decent at Lux's before I asked for College Degree.
Reasoning: Gin spent six years jumping from job to job on Earth before he finally became a bartender at a club named Purgatory. There he fell in love with the profession and hasn't wanted another job since. He works at Lux because one, Lucifer, for all that he's a putz, is pretty fair and never lets his area of business become affected by the disasters. Two, unlike the other bars, Lux has class.

Name of the Establishment: Kamiki Art School
Expected income: Depends on who signs up for class. Since the teachings change monthly, it's a sign up and pay for the classes that month. Of course, if she does not get enough refugees/aliens in class, she'll work a second, reasonable job. Private lessons are offered too (not those kind of private lessons).
Reasoning: She's a goddess with many talents in the arts (gardening too. Maybe a class on that later). Hell, mythology wise, she taught the Japanese about silk and loom weaving. She has other talents that she's willing to teach those on the SS Thor such as Drawing, Painting, Playing Instruments, and Dance.
Funds: She's saved up a reasonable amount, worked double jobs when necessary, worked six college degree jobs (Some examples of work: Music Boxes, Cosplay, Work with Lenalee), and she worked a CEO job this month.

Eventually, after they could reasonably expect to have built up a reputation and clients, we might make it an actual business and their primary income. For now it would be more like a hobby in their spare time.

Reasoning: Before she left for her update, she was considering opening a new place mostly for the sake of the angler fish that she has taken in. After returning, she decided to work more on it since she's missing home all over again. Ammy is looking to make the garden a new home to be more comfortable. Of course, it would be open to others and if they ask, they can live there too as long as they don't cause trouble. Obviously, it will have a very Japanese influence (full description to come later). The housing is far in the Garden, but following the winding paths should take you there. There's a pond next to the house is actually the home of the alien angler fish that she took in after the Sigrun so it's pretty deep... there will be a nice waterfall to look at, but still, best not to fall in.
(Question: Would it be too much to say a weather and night/day system is there?)

I figured he would have run-ins with the authorities and probably do something that might get him caught a couple times, and he may also get the Purists to notice him. I don't want it to be easy for him and I'm pretty sure that once he gets a couple normal missions in, he will 'win' a bar from some poor NPC and go from there. It will take a couple months as well, since he is not super-human in any way, shape or form.

Expected income: Again, minimal, because he does that crazy thing where instead of making any sort of profit he just goes and invests more of it; however, since entertainment would probably be more popular and accessible to most of the refugees than boring science, this one shouldn't take as long to actually make money.
Reasoning: Again, he's good at managing companies, and he wants to further establish the refugee population in the economy. He also thinks that having his own company could provide an alternative to any Purist-influenced media produced on the ship, because there will be someone who can make pro-refugee things. Also people like to be entertained and it ~raises their spirits~ or some bullshit.
Funds: He's an old miserly bastard who has only spent money on his company, which, as it's actually turning a bit of a profit, means he can further expand the company. Also Une is psycho and invests all her money in Wayne stock and Preventers and things like that so that's not really costing him much. Also he still just about only eats soup.

Funds: NARUTO IS RICH. He's been taking 2-3 jobs a month ever since he's arrived, and he's been at college level the past X months. Seriously, all he pays for is the room rent and a crapload of ramen. Kakashi is also pooling some money into this too.

He is a trained swordsman (as seen in the manga during battle scenes), and a dancer (also seen in the manga when Sakura plays the stringed instrument), and he believes that not only are the two things connected, but that those on the Thor should learn to defend themselves due to drive events, often hostile worlds, and the possibility of outside attack since those ominous messages from the Sigrun were found.

Also Sho is making money on the side that is completely off the books with information and smuggling and robbing other gangs.
Reasoning: It's what he does and no matter what or where he is, Sho doesn't feel comfortable without having a safe spot to call his own. Since in canon he had a bar that his brother 'ran' that he worked out of , this will give him the same kind of comfort. He will also be setting up space as a place for people to hide in, and he and his partners will be living near by like above it.

He has totally been saving the stuff he has made through his illegal activities and about half of his monnies from his missions, and Aya is pitching in to help. Expected income: MILLIONS. Lemina has unreasonable expectations. Probably more like Somewhat Decent, since a large portion of all profits made (especially from item sales and the like) will be re-invested back into the Guild. May creep up to College Degree or even CEO if it grows the way Lemina hopes it will.
Reasoning: The Magic Guild was, in Lemina's canon, the largest and most prestigious magical organization in the world... emphasis on was. Being the heiress to the Guild, Lemina made it her mission to revive it. From the point in canon she's taken from, she's learned a lot about what the purpose of the Guild is and what it should become, and is ready to begin working on it anew. Thus, letting her actually take a crack at running it only seems appropriate!

Name of the Establishment: As yet to be determined. Since Polly's imagination isn't very good, she's going to post to the Network asking for ideas and use the suggestion she likes best, if this is approved.
Expected income: Fairly successful, since Polly can create/afford quality tea, and comfortable surroundings in which to drink it.
Reasoning: Tea has been pretty much Polly's favorite thing ever since her earliest days on the Thor and hasn't waned in the two years she's been aboard. She's had the idea to start a tea shop for about a year, now. She's a hard worker and a fast learner, and would like to open a place where people can come in, get comfortable, have their tea, maybe a little cake, and hang out... It'll probably be more trendy/modern to set itself apart from the traditional Victorian/Eastern tea parlors.
